Lieut. S.D. Jamieson

The following was written and submitted by PT Maule:

Lieut. S. David JAMIESON arrived as a reinforcement Officer with the SSR on 8 Aug 44. Was reported missing in action on 14 Aug. 44, at Claire Tizon (just before Falaise). In March Legion magazine in the Lost Trails Column, his brother Angus was wanting info re "the possibility of anyone knowing David and possibly have more information as to what happened to him".

The SSR Honour Roll indicated that he was buried in Bayeux War Cemetery. Further enquiries finally showed that Lt. Jamieson, along with a L/Cpl and three Privates of the North Shore (New Brunswick) Regiment were all mentioned on the Memorial Wall and Jamieson is not buried with a head stone indicating he was KIA as a member of the S. Sask. R. The attached letters from his brother Angus states that he and his two other brothers are much appreciative for this information and details after so many years of having no information.
