To whom it may concern,

I realize that this is a shot in the dark, and I'm hoping that I've started in the right place, I would like to find out if there is anyone alive that might remember my great grandfather. He served with the South Saskatchewan Regiment from 1940 until 1945, when he was killed in the Hochwald Forest. His name was John Ernest Elliott, but I believe that he also went by the name Jack. He was a corporal when he died.

Are there many living WW2 SSR veterans?

The only other information I have is that he was in B Coy of the SSR when they shipped out to Scotland in December 1940, and that he was at Dieppe. I also have a photo of him attached in this email.

Any information/direction would be very much appreciated. Thank you for your time,

Patrick Towell
