South Saskatchewan Regiment

This site is the product of many years of volunteer effort, especially the contributions of SSR soldiers and their families, and work by Estevan Public Library staff. It contains the war diary, nominal rolls, photo gallery, testimonials by or about SSR soldiers and their families, SSR news, and information about researching family history involving soldiers, in the links section.
The original inspiration for this web site was the digitization of the book The March of the Prairie Men. Once digitized and on the Internet, SSR veterans began communicating with the webmaster, submitting content to add. This additional content grew into a volume of material greater than the book and the SSR web site was born. Now The March of the Prairie Men forms just a part of this site.
It is being created to honour PT Maule, Cec Law, Bill Sutherland, and all other soldiers of the SSR and their families.
